Mama, bubby, wife, lover of old things, conspiracies, animals, and most importantly the Heavenly Father!
At 50, Mrs. Day is diving into homesteading and side hustles after years as an administrative assistant, receptionist, and insurance agent. Leaving northeastern Nevada with her second husband, she’s trading office life for farm life—chickens, dogs, stepkids, and all.
A month before the move, things got even busier. Along with five dogs, six chickens, and her husband, three stepdaughters and their pets arrived just in time for the chaotic move. Perfect timing.
Mrs. Day has tackled plenty of challenges, but this is a new kind of hustle. Fencing that won’t hold, vehicles that won’t cooperate, unpredictable animals, nonstop chores, and lighting and bathroom challenges are just part of the deal and great learning experiences. But she’s used to figuring things out.
Days are spent building, feeding, and managing the growing farm. Evenings are for resting, reading, researching conspiracies, admiring the stars and the property’s solar lights, and just taking in what she’s built so far. It’s a different kind of work—but she’s all in, with lots of plans!

Characteristics:
Loyal and loving to all in the realm, with just a touch of sass, Chewy is our resident alpha female, Chewy has been in the family since 6 weeks old, our son and oldest in the mash-up brought her home and it was love at first sight. Chewy is charged with guarding and greeting those new to the “realm”, she is a good girl, but does have her spicy side and has been known to give a tongue lashing or two…or three or four. Her vocabulary is quite impressive. She’s encountered many people and lived in CA, NV and now on our homestead in AZ, everyone loves Chewy.
