Scabbywag: The Pirate-Hearted Ratrod Baja Bug

Scabbywag: The Pirate-Hearted Ratrod Baja Bug

He’s not your average Baja Bug. Scabbywag is a scrapyard rebel with a pirate soul—part ratrod, part '73 Baja Beetle, all attitude.

Rusty in the right ways, loud in all the others, Scabbywag wears his dents like battle scars and his mismatched panels like a captain's coat. Every scratch has a backstory. Every backfire is a laugh in the face of convention. Born in chaos and pieced together with stubborn will, he’s a rolling reminder that perfection is overrated—character wins the race.

He rumbles, he roars, he raises eyebrows at stoplights. And yeah—he’s got a name you won’t forget and a soul that refuses to quit.

But will we ever get him to run again after the rear-end incident—just five minutes after we bought him? Honestly... probably. Scabbywag wasn’t built to play it safe. He was made for comebacks, chaos, and questionable repair choices. Rear end or not, he’s got too much personality to stay down for long.

He doesn’t break—he plots a comeback.

What started as a quirky project quickly turned into something much bigger. We invested in Scabbywag not just to rebuild a car but to build a tradition. Our goal is to one day travel to events as a pirate family, decked out in gear and grog (well, root beer), creating memories and bringing joy wherever Scabby rolls.

Even more than that, Scabbywag’s future adventures are part of our dream to support our desert homestead sanctuary, which already provides a safe haven to 20 beautiful souls—dogs, cats, chickens, and survivors of abuse and neglect. Every hopeful mile and wild idea is rooted in our mission to keep their tails wagging and feathers fluffed. If you would like to support our sanctuary via donation on CashApp, our cashtag is $PerpetualVeracity. Thank you! 💜
